    Ph.D. in Education concentration in Curriculum & Teacher Education (60-credits)

    Endicott’s research-based doctorate in education prepares students to serve as an expert in education through coursework, mentorship, and Endicott’s signature doctoral apprenticeship. Students will develop their research knowledge and skills to address educational problems in a variety of contexts relevant to public and private education in the K-12 sector.

    This 100% online program uses a blend of synchronous and asynchronous modalities. Students will pursue research and/or teaching opportunities under the mentorship of a faculty member. Virtual residency weekends will also be held three times a year which aim to increase the professional skills in publishing, networking and presenting at research conferences in the field.

    The Curriculum & Teacher Education concentration provides advanced training in curriculum theory, teacher preparation and development, critical approaches to education, and more to increase your effectiveness as a future researcher. Graduates from this program are prepared to serve as teacher education faculty or in teacher preparation programs.

    Learning Outcomes

    Upon completion of this program, students will:
    • Develop fluency with significant empirical and theoretical works in the field of education.
    • Locate and synthesize existing research to analyze contemporary problems in the field.
    • Demonstrate mastery of social scientific research processes to conduct research in an ethical manner.
    • Communicate clearly with a scholarly audience via written research and oral presentations.
    • Conduct independent, original research that contributes to their field or area of interest.
