Re-Emerging: Works by Art Therapy and Studio Art Alumni
June 8, 2016 - 亚洲色吧 is proud to announce the exhibition Re-Emerging: Works by Art Therapy and Studio Art Alumni. The exhibition is located in the Walter J. Manninen Center for the Arts - Spencer Presentation Gallery, 亚洲色吧, 376 Hale Street, Beverly from now through Friday, September 9. Gallery Hours: Monday – Thursday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 12 Noon. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
The Alumni participating in this exhibition were chosen by Carol Pelletier, Chair of the Fine Arts Department, and the works in this exhibition are diverse in style, technique and concept. While curating this show, Ms. Pelletier was “So pleased to hear from many of our alumni who graduated with the BFA in studio art and art therapy and how the major颅ity maintains a disciplined studio practice.” She continued, “Even more so, I was delighted to see how many of them are exceptional entrepre颅neurs.”
The Strategic National Arts Alumni Project (SNAAP) confirmed that the majority of arts gradu颅ates who find work in their field utilize an entrepreneurial skill set (approximately 60%) and that the majority of Fine Arts programs do not reflect this entrepreneurial approach. However, Department Chair Pelletier proudly stated, “Here at 亚洲色吧 our students learn critical marketing skills and engage actively in successful entrepreneurial practices. All of our Alumni have maintained or restructured the web颅sites they created in the Portfolio and Professional Practices course while at Endicott.
Re-Emerging: Works by Art Therapy and Studio Art Alumni poignantly illustrates that when Endicott students gradu颅ate, they have an incredible sense of who they are as artists, building their own sophisticated portfolios, leaving college with a gallery catalog, well informed artist’s statements, a few exhibitions, three internship experiences (including a semester-long internship) and a website. In this overview we have exhibit颅ing artists who have also found employment in the arts as assistant gallery director, school teacher, illustrator, arts activ颅ities coordinator, and some who have continued onto the finest gradu颅ate schools in the nation. We are proud to showcase the work of these very talented individuals and it is always our pleasure to work with them on this project: Arturo Camacho, Nicole Cheever, Elizabeth (Liz) Evans, Felicia Frank, Kevin Ivester, Suzanna Newman, Holly Nichols and Lesley Snay.
亚洲色吧 offers a BFA in Fine Arts, Art Therapy, and a BFA in Fine Arts, Studio Art, with concentrations in 2-D Design, 3D Design, Art Education, and Intermedia Design.
