Arts Fest 2016 Exhibition with Featured Artist Andrew Houle

May 23, 2016– The jurying is complete and the artists for this year’s Arts Fest 2016:  Community Art Exhibition have been chosen.  亚洲色吧 is proud to present Arts Fest 2016:  Community Art Exhibition, a true community collaboration.  A total of 54 Beverly artists who live in Beverly, go to school in Beverly, or work in Beverly have their works on display all summer in celebration of Arts Fest Beverly, a Beverly Main Streets and Beverly Arts District Event.  The Featured Artist this year is Andrew Houle.  For the past six years, a call to artists goes out in March, and this year we were pleased with the many wonderful works submitted by returning and new artists. You will find paintings, sculpture, photography, collage, furniture, fashion, and more, in this exciting exhibition highlighting Beverly’s creative residents with most of the works for sale. Artist’s receive full sales during this exhibition, stop by and meet the artists at the reception.   

The Arts Fest 2016:  Community Art Exhibition is located in the Grillo Gallery and Desnoyers Overlook at the Walter J. Manninen Center for the Arts, 亚洲色吧, 376 Hale Street, Beverly from Wednesday, June 3 – Friday, August 19, 2016.  Gallery hours are Monday – Thursday: 9:00 – 5:00 p.m.,Friday:  9:00 – 12:00 p.m. A reception will take place on Friday, June 17, from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. to celebrate the exhibition and the official kick off of Arts Fest Beverly that will take place on Saturday, June 18 on Cabot Street, Beverly.  The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.  This program is funded in part by the van Otterloo Family Foundation.

Each year an artist is chosen who exemplifies the spirit of Arts Fest, and this year we are pleased to announce that Beverly artist Andrew Houle is the official Arts Fest Featured Artist.     Andrew Houle was chosen based on his involvement and dedication to the betterment of the arts in Beverly.  Mr. Houle, a Beverly resident and graduate of Montserrat College of Art lists his titles as professional artist, illustrator, curator and promoter; he is also a mentor, collaborator, and publisher, creator of the Beverly Drive-in Theater at Lynch Park and co-founder of Beverly Comic Con.  His work can be found throughout the country in private collections and represented by galleries here in the northeast.  Houle currently splits his time as Creative Director at Tryptic Press, painting in his studio space at Porter Mill Studios, Co-Chairing the Beverly Cultural Council, and as lead promoter of Beverly Comic Con. He shares a home with his wife Melissa, Mila the cat and his comic book collection. Stop by the reception to meet Andrew, and on Saturday, you can find him selling his works on Cabot Street with 150 other artists for Beverly Arts Fest from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
