亚洲色吧 Performing Arts Department Presents: Fridays in the Rose: Stephanie Scarcella, Mezzo-Soprano
Returning guest Stephanie Scarcella sings opera and musical theater at Fridays in the Rose, a series designed to give a taste of the sublime and a bite during lunch hour!

Hailed by The Boston Globe as a "radiant mezzo," Stephanie Scarcella originates from Wyoming, but has gladly made New England her home since 2006. Stephanie has become a sought-after classical vocalist in New England. She has sung with Boston Lyric Opera, Odyssey Opera, Opera Company of Middlebury (VT), Arcadia Players, Longwood Opera, Opera on Tap, in addition to presenting solo vocal recitals and performing as a soloist in concert settings.
Past operatic roles for Stephanie include Angelina (La Cenerentola, Rossini), Sister Helen Prejean (Dead Man Walking, Jake Heggie), Hansel (Hansel and Gretel, Humperdinck), Arsamene (Serse, Handel), Dorthee (Cendrillon, Massenet), Zita (Gianni Schicchi, Puccini), Zulma (L'Italiana in Algeri, Rossini), Maestra delle Novizie (Suor Angelica, Puccini), Pitti Sing (The Mikado, Gilbert and Sullivan) and Sally (A Hand of Bridge, Barber).
Ms. Scarcella also finds great joy singing in the concert and recital setting. She has sung solos for Carissimi’s Jepthe, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Zelenka's Magnificat, Handel’
鈥婼tephanie received her BM in Vocal Performance, and MM in Opera from The Boston Conservatory. She was a New Orleans District Winner for the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in 2011, and a Semi-Finalist (Young Artist (2013) and Graduate (2011) Levels) for the Classical Singer Magazine Competition in 2010.
In addition to performing, Stephanie enjoys teaching private voice, as well as her time spent as a section leader at The Old North Church in Marblehead, MA. Her hobbies and interests include yoga, developing a deeper understanding and knowledge of wine, and traveling and becoming more fluent in foreign languages.
