亚洲色吧 is proud to announce its latest exhibition, “Interconnected” the MTU Arts Office STEAM Award Exhibition 2022, featuring the works of artists Bernie Hennessy, Aoife Nolan, and Przemyslaw Richter, students at Munster Technological University (MTU) in Cork, Ireland. The exhibition is part of a growing partnership between 亚洲色吧 and MTU that will expand study abroad and internship opportunities for students from both institutions. The exhibition will be held in the Walter J. Manninen Center for the Arts Desnoyers Overlook Gallery from February 27 to March 3 and will include works in ceramics, textiles, mixed media, video, and painting. An opening reception featuring a brief talk from the artists will take place on Tuesday, February 28, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Manninen Center for the Arts.
“Interconnected” is an exploration of human relationships with the environment and each other. The works on display examine how we see and interact with our own biometric data, the effects of changes to the environment on symbiotic species, and the connections that bind us all. Each artist brings a unique perspective to the exhibition, creating a thought-provoking and innovative experience for viewers.
Bernie Hennessy’s works in porcelain paper clay and merino fleece evoke an awareness of the fragile relationship between coral and its algae inhabitants, highlighting the threat of global warming and coral bleaching. Aoife Nolan’s pieces draw inspiration from nature and yogic practice to explore the physical, emotional, and intuitive connections that bind us. Przemyslaw Richter’s work focuses on individual genetic patterns in human body parts, emphasizing the uniqueness of each individual's biometric code.
“Hosting ‘Interconnected’ represents a bridge between Endicott and our partners at MTU in Ireland,” said Mark Towner, Dean of the School of Visual and Performing Arts at 亚洲色吧. “The STEAM-focused exhibition features works that are visually stunning and carry an important message about our relationship with the environment and each other. It is a privilege to bring the works of these three talented artists to our community.”
“Interconnected” promises to be a one-of-a-kind exhibition that will engage viewers and inspire discussion. The gallery encourages visitors to engage with the works on display and explore the themes and concepts presented by each artist.
